Morning photos

Halloween morning got off to a sleepy start. Olivia has been a great big sister, cuddling and kissing him as often as possible. Here are some great shots from the morning.

Pumpkin Patch Fun

Adam and Olivia got to pick out their own pumpkins at Simmons Farm. Adam went dressed in his bat costume. View all of the photos.

Bris Milah

Bris Milah, ritual circumcision, is one of the most fundamental precepts of the Jewish religion. This name is based on the Biblical account of the Covenant which God made with Abraham, that all newborn sons in the future generations would be circumcised on the eighth day as a sign of their entry into the Jewish fold. Circumcision is, therefore, a religious act. It symbolizes the linking of the new son to his past, and dedicates him to Jewish loyalty in his future. At the ritual circumcision, prayers are recited, expressing the gratitude of the parents, invoking the blessing of God upon the child, and announcing his given Hebrew name. (source: various)

Adam's circumcision took place on Tuesday Oct 5 and his hebrew name is Dov Minachem. He is named after his great great grandmother Rives and his cousin Mindy Meyers, two very special people in Josh's life. You can view photos from the circumcision (nothing graphic, I promise).

Week One Updates

I have added a bunch of new photos to the Adam's Week One Album. Olivia is really excited by her new brother and loves to hold him on her lap and cuddle. Adam is growing very nicely and weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces at his one week checkup.
