Bris Milah
Bris Milah, ritual circumcision, is one of the most fundamental precepts of the Jewish religion. This name is based on the Biblical account of the Covenant which God made with Abraham, that all newborn sons in the future generations would be circumcised on the eighth day as a sign of their entry into the Jewish fold. Circumcision is, therefore, a religious act. It symbolizes the linking of the new son to his past, and dedicates him to Jewish loyalty in his future. At the ritual circumcision, prayers are recited, expressing the gratitude of the parents, invoking the blessing of God upon the child, and announcing his given Hebrew name. (source: various)
Adam's circumcision took place on Tuesday Oct 5 and his hebrew name is Dov Minachem. He is named after his great great grandmother Rives and his cousin Mindy Meyers, two very special people in Josh's life. You can view photos from the circumcision (nothing graphic, I promise).

Thank-you for sharing this important day in Adam's life and thank-you for enlightening me a little about the rite of circumcision and the Jewish religion.
May God bless Adam, Mom and Dad and Olivia.

Josh,
thanks for the link to your website. its really great to (photographically) catch up with your family. Congratulations on your new son Adam and thank you for the very interesting information about the bris. Not being a member of the Jewish faith I found it very interesting to learn about one of your many traditions. I believe your faith is one of the few remaining religions that is still pure, and not ruined by greed or the lust for power. All the best to you and your family my friend. All the best.
