A very busy month! Olivia visited with the entire Knauer Clan in NJ, went to Camp, had a wonderful visit from her Godfather Michael and a visit from her cousins. She also found time to play with mom in the sprinkler in our backyard. View all photos from August 2003.

Olivia has really been enjoying the summer in her new backyard, and has been swimming in her baby pool, sliding down her own slide and swinging on her swingset. She also had a great time at her Papa's 80th birthday party! View all photos from July 2003.

Olivia got to spend time with Great Aunt Geneva and Great Uncle Robert and enjoyed a visit from Uncle Tom and Aunt Lynn. She also was just getting used to her new swingset (with some help from Jody!). View all photos from June 2003.

Another busy month for Olivia! She went to NJ for Passover, celebrated Easter in Pittsburgh with her Papa and Grandma, went up to her cabin in the woods (camp) and also helped her parents pick out a new house to buy! View all photos from April 2003.

Olivia went to the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, visited Gram and Pop in NJ and also went to Florida with Mommy, Petra and Emuna. View all photos from March 2003.

Olivia started out the month on the beaches of Grand Cayman. She had a great time playing in the sand and swimming in the ocean. View all photos from February 2003.

Olivia turned one on January 1st and celebrated the event at a party with friends and family. Olivia had a great time and really dove into her birthday cake! At the end of the month, Olivia went on a trip with her Mom, Dad, Gram and Pop to Grand Cayman Island (see pictures in February 2003). View all photos from January 2003.

Olivia had a great holiday season filled with family and presents. Gram and Pop came into town at the end of the month to get ready to celebrate Olivia's birthday. View all photos from December 2002.

This month started out wth a visit from Gram and Pop! Luna and Olivia have also started to bond a lot more. Olivia also hung out with Cousins Isabel and Skye for Thanksgiving! View all photos from November 2002.

Summer has been fun for Olivia, with visits to outdoor art festivals, concerts, and more. She continues to love trying new foods. So far, the highlight of the month was a visit from Cousin Isabel, Aunt Amy and Uncle Matt. Olivia showed off her favorite park and the petting zoo at the street fair Squirrel Hill. June was a very exciting month, with a big trip to Philadelphia, and then to central PA for a stay at Centre Mills B&B. Olivia also visited the Pittsburgh Zoo twice, first with her friend Emuna and then with her Grandma and Grandpap Stadterman. View all photos from June 2002.

Olivia continues to grow and seems to have found her voice now. She loves to babble and smile at people, her puppies and her stuffed animals. Her travels continue, with a long weekend spent up at "Camp" for Mother's Day and a six day trip to NJ to see her Gram and Pop over Memorial Day Weekend. View all photos from May 2002.

Olivia took two big trips this month, visiting Charlottesville VA (for Mom's conference with the National Federation of Community Broadcasters) and Washington DC (to see Cousin Isabel, Aunt Amy and Uncle Matt) and then going up to Mohonk Mountain House in NY for Dad's Social Venture Network conference. After the SVN conference, the very busy Olivia spent two nights relaxing at the cabin her Grandpap built (aka: "Camp"). View all photos from April 2002.

Olivia went on her first big trip to celebrate her Gram's 60th birthday in NJ. Her cousins Skye and Isabel and their families came too. View all photos from Gram's Birthday Weekend (warning... there are a lot of pictures!).

March has been filled with a lot of fun new experiences! Olivia met all of her aunts and uncles and has become incredibly interactive and alert. She is also supporting her own neck now fully. View all photos from March 2002.

Olivia's second month was also filled with a lot of sleeping and growing, but she has definitely started becoming more alert and smiles up a storm. This month she got a very special visit from her Godfather, Michael Brown who flew in from England just to meet her! View all photos from March 2002.

Olivia has really started to grow quickly now and sleeps a lot so she can grow even more. We are seeing all kinds of wonderful developmental changes, including the start of smiling! She also is starting to really recognize Mom and Dad and is keeping eye contact. View all photos from Jan 15-31, 2002.

February 2003: Olivia is now playing fetch with Luna and frequently hugs her! She says "mamma" and a version of "thank you." She is also imitating everything her parents do and loves to dance.

January 2003: Olivia is now one year old and weighed in at 18 lbs 13 oz and measured 28.25" long at her doctor's appointment. She knows where her eyes, ears, nose, etc. are and loves to point to them on other people, too. Her favorite is the belly. She's also pointing to people (including herself) and her dogs, recognizing them by name.

December 2002: Olivia is now running around, carrying toys and sippy cups all around the house and she learned how to clap!

November 2002: Olivia now has two teeth and is starting to take steps on her own!

October 2002: Olivia went to the doctor for her 9 month checkup. She weighs 17 lbs 5 oz and is 27.5" long. She is pointing with her index finger and is eating solid foods with her fingers. She has been walking around the house using furniture to hold her up.

September 2002: Olivia is now standing up by herself! She can pull herself up to a standing position as long as she has something to grab on to.

August 2002: Olivia is now crawling! She scrambles all around with her belly on the floor. She loves to chase her puppies Luna and Simon throughout the house.

July 2002: Olivia is now pulling herself to a standing position and is also making attempts to crawl!

June 26, 2002: Yet another doctor's visit with less shots than the other ones. Olivia weighs 14lbs, 12oz and is 25.5" long. Her head is 45 cm in diameter, which is in the 97th percentile (her weight is in the 25th percentile)!

June 13, 2002: Olivia started eating solid foods today! Her first meal was a delightful mushed rice cereal, mixed with a fine vintage of breast milk. She took to eating immediately and ate a tremendous amount of food... with a spoon, too!

May 3, 2002: Another doctor's visit, with far too many shots. Olivia now weighs 13lbs, 8oz and is 24" long. While her body weight/size is in the 50th percentile, her head size is in the 95th!

April 29, 2002: Two big trips this month! Olivia is now rolling from her belly to her back, is exploring everything with her hands and mouth, starting to vocalize a lot more and is sitting on her own (with a little help).

March 22-29, 2002: Olivia went on her first big trip with Mom and Dad to visit Gram and Pop Knauer in NJ... lots of pictures on the left.

February 27, 2002: Fairly traumatic doctor's visit today for both Olivia and her parents, as Olivia received her first immunization shots. Clean bill of health and she weighs 10lbs 8oz, is 22" long and her head circumference is 39.5"!

January 28, 2002: Olivia's second visit to the doctor. She weighs 8lbs 4oz, is 21" long and her head circumference is a whopping 37.5"! Dr. Hauser says she is very healthy and seems quite happy.

January 8, 2002: Olivia's first visit to the pediatrician (Dr. Hauser)! She weighs in at 6lbs 4oz and is very healthy.

January 1, 2002: Olivia was born today at 1:48am at Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She weighed 6lbs, 5oz at birth. Kathleen was in labor for 23 hours but when Olivia decided to come out, Kathleen only had to push for 19 minutes!

Olivia's dad maintains this website. Almost all of the photos were taken on a Sony DSC-F505V camera and processed using iPhoto on a Macintosh PowerBook G4. The website is hosted on IGC's main server. Check out this site's statistics.
